Happy Summer Vacation!

We wish all of our families a Happy and Safe Summer Vacation!

We wrapped up our school year on a high note with very successful events, including our Mission Fund Day, Talent Show and Graduation! We thank our families and students for your participation and efforts this past year.  We also said goodbye to Mr Gordon who has been reassigned to John Sweeney Catholic Elementary School in the fall.  We wish all of our Long Term Occasional Staff well also and to them we say see you soon as they may return in the fall.

Our office will be closed on Monday July 3rd in recognition of the Canada Day Holiday. The office will reopen on Tuesday July 4th and Wednesday July 5th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  After July 5th the office will be closed for the summer.  All emails and telephone messages will be returned the once the office reopens for the 2023/24 School Year at the end of August.

Thank you and we’ll see you in September!

Last Week of School!

Dear Families

First and foremost we wish to thank you for your generosity with our Big Box Fundraiser and our Mission Fund Day!  Our Fundraiser surpassed our expectations with around 1000 boxes sold! We will be using these funds to replenish our gym equipment, look into some Kindergarten Yard improvements and explore other projects that will be shared with you in the fall.  Our Mission Fund Day was also a huge success!  Once the final tallies are in, we will share this information with you over email. We have had to postpone the basket activity until either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning due to it’s popularity and to ensure all students wishing to participate will have the opportunity.

This week we have many events planned to wrap up the school year:

Monday June 26Grade 8 Breakfast and Talent Show Dress Rehearsal. Please note the Hot Lunch Program is now done for the year. Thank you for your support.

Tuesday June 27Primary Play Day, Report Cards come home and Grade 8 Graduation

Wednesday June 28thSpirit Wear Day, Grade 8 Feeder School Dance and Schoolwide Barbecue! This is a new annual tradition for students as the hot lunch program is now done for the year.  Please visit school cashonline to purchase your option of a hotdog, hamburger or veggie dog. We have also included the option (like at Christmas) of supporting a family in need so that all students can partake in the barbecue. We thank you so much for your support! The Barbecue is catered by a local caterer – Remember Me Catering/Clover Kitchens.  This Barbecue is being subsidized also with the funds raised through various initiatives this past year.  Please ensure you go into school cashonline and place your order by Wednesday morning.  We will start serving lunch at 11:30 a.m. and throughout the lunch hour.

Thursday June 29th – Last Day of School, Celebrate Canada Day (wear red, white and/or the maple leaf), Talent Show

Thank you so much for your support during this past year!

Educational Assistant & Child Youth Care Worker Appreciation Day

The staff and students at Holy Spirit would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all of our Educational Assistants and Child and Youth Care Workers on “EA and CYCW Appreciation Day!”  A good Educational Assistant and Child & Youth Care Worker must be friendly in nature, patient, and sensitive towards the needs of children they support. It is with your support, your dedication to our students, and your commitment to the success of each child, that helps our students and school be successful.  The growth that we see in our students is not measured each day, but each year, and when we reflect on our students who need your support most, the growth we see across their school careers is amazing – and it is because of you!  THANK YOU for all that you do to make our schools safe places where our students have an opportunity to learn, grow, feel valued, achieve their full potential, and for always being that much needed support for all of us as a staff!  It truly takes a special person to do what you do and we all know that without you…….we just couldn’t do it!
