Cold and Flu Season

Dear Families

Cold and Flu Season is well upon us and included in that are various Respiratory Illnesses.  For the safety and well being of staff and students, we wish to send this reminder of the measures to be taken when your child is sick.  The Waterloo Catholic District School Board always leans on the recommendations of the Public Health Ontario and the Region of Waterloo Public Heath. The recommendations continue to be that those who are sick are to stay home: “You should stay home until all of the following apply to you: your symptoms have been improving for at least 24 hours (or 48 hours if you had nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea), and do not have a fever, and you do not develop any additional symptoms.”

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us avoid the spread and/or worsening illness for our staff and students.

Peek at Next Week Jan 22 – 26

Hello Everyone

There is much going on next week that we wish to share the highlights with you:

  1. It is Mental Health and Anti-Stigma Week. We will participate in Let’s Talk Day by wearing blue on Thursday January 25th.
  2. Last Year Staff and Students from WCDSB built an Indigenous Canoe and it has been making it’s rounds to all of the schools. We are happy that is here on display at Holy Spirit this week and students will be learning about the canoe.
  3. It is Family Literacy Day next Saturday January 27th.
  4. Lastly our boys’ basketball and girls’ volleyball teams have been busy practicing, and their regular seasons officially kicks off the week of January 22nd!   To ensure adequate supervision at games, students are required to have their own parent or guardian in attendance with them.  Parents/guardians cannot supervise other students. This applies at both home and away games.  Thanks in advance for your cooperation. This message is being shared by all schools in the Monsignor Doyle Family of schools.

Thank you
