Dear Families

There are a few events we wish to bring to your attention.

There is a Board Wide Virtual Presentation on Digital Safety Awareness and Human Trafficking Prevention Education on April 30th from 7:00 – 8:00 pm.  Please click here for more information and how to register: Registration Poster – Human Trafficking Prevention Education

Next week we continue with our Badminton, Folk Dance, Cross Country and Track & Field Practices. Our Chess Club and new Horticulture Club will continue also. Our May Caribou Math Contest will take place as well as our May Assembly.

As you are aware, this is Earth Week and many students have expressed an interest with celebrating and being eco-conscience in our school. Here are the activities the Eco Group has planned for this week:

Holy Spirit School – Earth Week 2024

Move Monday (Leg Day) – Take a Green Ride (Earth Day – Wear Green):

Today, let’s move in a green way! Instead of driving, let’s walk, bike, or take the bus.

Eco Lunch Tuesday – No Trash, Just Tasty (Wear White):

Today, let’s pack a lunch with no trash! Use reusable containers and a water bottle.

Water-Smart Wednesday – Drip, Drop, Stop (Wear Blue):

Today, let’s be water wizards! Use less water when brushing your teeth and taking a bath. 

Nature Day Thursday – Clean and Green (Wear Animal Prints) :

Today, let’s explore nature and keep it clean! Join the school yard clean-up and/or go on a nature walk. 

Lights-Out Friday (Wear Red) – Dim the Lights, Brighten the Planet:

Today, let’s give our planet a break! Turn off lights for an hour to save energy.

Good Morning Everyone

• Kitchener Titans: we have received a number of tickets for the rest of the regular season of the Kitchener Titans. Everyone is welcome to use the promo code. Buy 1 ticket at a regular price (valid for gold & red seats) and get the second ticket free. Please send your child to the main office to pick up tickets if you are interested. The promo code is on the ticket.
• Dwayne Morgan Presentation: Our Junior (virtually) and Intermediate (in person) students will be experiencing this presentation.
• Folk Dance: practices continue this week at lunch
• Cross Country: practices will be starting soon.
• Track & Field: the assembly and practices are commencing for our school meet in May.
• Horticulture Club: Ms. Raposo will be starting a Horticulture Club to assist with our eco initiatives.
• Grade 7 Immunization Day: Thursday of this week.
• Grade 8 Youth Symposium: Thursday of this week.
• Chess and Card Club: Continues this week on Thursday.
• First Communion: will happen this weekend. We wish our students many blessings and the receive this sacrament.
