A Few Noteworthy Items before Easter…

Reminder to Save a Few Dates…

Holy Spirit Families:

Thursday, April 12 Monsignor Doyle will be hosting a FREE Family Wellness Night featuring a Coffee House and Freestyle Soccer players. Save the date and check out the flyer below.

Family Wellness Night April 12

Also, another reminder about our Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast taking place on May 8th at 8:30AM. We would love to have anybody out who has supported Holy Spirit through volunteering. It could have been as simple as driving one time to a sports tournament or helping out during a field trip. Whether you made pancakes for Shrove Tuesday or read weekly with our Strong Start program, we want to honour your choice to be a part of the Holy Spirit volunteer community.

Safe Arrival and Departure Plan is Being Updated…

As a school community we have been reviewing our safe arrival and departure plan, and what that looks like as a community at the beginning and end of the day. Our parent council partners have been working closely with our board and school team to revise our pick up and drop off protocols. We will be releasing further details in the weeks ahead, but we wanted everyone to know that these improvements will come into effect on Monday, April 30th. Please look for more information about this transition during the month of April.

Have a Safe and Blessed Easter…

Holy Spirit celebrated a beautiful Stations of the Cross Liturgy which reminded us how deeply we are loved. God’s infinite grace is available to all of us, and we are all worthy of being loved. Take time to reflect on the message of hope as you spend time with those dearest to you.

Have a wonderful Easter!

Fitness Frenzy FUNdraiser Launches Today

Fitness Frenzy FUNdraiser Launches Today!

Holy Spirit Families,

As you discussed the days’ events with your children over the dinner table (or in a car as you rushed to activities like most of us with kids do 🙂 ), we hope your children spoke of our Fitness Frenzy Launch which took place today. This Spring FUNdraiser is vital to the second phase of building our Natural Play Area. PLUS the Fitness Frenzy day is a LOT of fun for our kids!

There are many details and dates in the kit your child received (see below) explaining the event, the fundraising goal and the way for your child to earn prizes for their participation.

We know this is an important time of year to see family and friends, so we wanted to make it as easy as possible for your child to ask for pledges towards their Fitness Frenzy goal. We are very grateful for the support we receive from our parent partners, and look forward to continued success as we strive together to make Holy Spirit School the very best place to learn and grow.

With Gratitude,

The Holy Spirit School Team

P.S. We showed the students our Holy Spirit School video from last year to remind them what we were doing this time last year. It is worth another look as it showcases all the fun energy our students bring to all their projects, including our Fitness Frenzy FUNdraiser. Check it out below!

The Week Ahead March 26 to 30

We journey into Holy Week Together…

Today was Palm Sunday which begins Holy Week. This is week of reflection where we have the opportunity to celebrate the resurrection and appreciate Christ’s passion and suffering. If you are unsure of what the specific days are or what they mean, there is a great video you can check out which will help you if your younger children have questions about our Easter holiday. It is only 2 minutes long and gets to the heart of what Holy Week is about. Check it out below:

SAVE THE DATE! Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast May 8th

Holy Spirit School is a vibrant community with a lot of things happening. This would NOT be possible without the many parent volunteers that help our school. Whether you have been a guest reader in Kindergarten, helped on parent council or maybe volunteered for a field trip… this event is for you! The event will take place at Holy Spirit School during Catholic Education Week, and you are welcome to attend the Open House following the breakfast. Please save the date: Tuesday, May 8th 8:30AM to 9:30AM. We would love everyone who has volunteered to attend so we can honour your valuable contributions to our school.

LAST CHANCE TOMORROW to have your say about the board’s budget!

The WCDSB is currently seeking feedback from all members of our community, especially our parent partners. Please take a few minutes to have your say about where the board should direct our resources to best meet the learning needs of the Holy Spirit Community. The Senior team at the board really does value the input parents provide, and will definitely use this data as they create priorities and goals for the latest strategic plan.
