December is here and it his brought snowy weather and the feeling of Christmas. As we are often busy with Christmas celebrations and decorations we need to remember to keep the true meaning and spirit in our minds – the birth of Jesus!
During this holy season of Christmas, we ask for your blessing on all families.
Let Mary’s openness to your wondrous ways be an inspiration to place all trust in you.
Let Joseph’s courage provide hope during times of anxiety and uncertainty.
Let Jesus’ life ignite all families with a spirit of light and love.
May the grace that encircled the Holy Family widen to embrace all families.
For this we pray.

School Yard Safety – Before and After School
Parents/adults are not permitted to enter the blacktop and school property during the school day. Just as we do at recesses during the day, we supervise and ensure the safety of students when on school property. These same measures – no adults and/or strangers on school property – will be in place for the full school day – between 8:40-3:55 PM. Parents of Kindergarten students can continue their drop-off and pick-up procedures that are currently in place.
The Safe Schools Act dictates that Parents and Visitors sign in at the office before gaining access to school property or spaces occupied by our students – we need to ensure we exercise the same safety measures as we start and end our day. Accordingly, we consistently have parents, visitors or strangers (construction staff, board staff, etc.) sign in at the office before gaining access to the school yard, hallways and/or classrooms at any point in the day.
Please see the attached document for a reminder of the Drop-off and Pick-up Zones:
Thank you for helping keep safety at the forefront of all we do at the Mighty Holy Spirit!
The traffic congestion at the front of the school has improved tenfold. Thank you for your support and understanding as we have been making Holy Spirit as safe as possible.
Please review our Holy Spirit Traffic Policy. Click on the link below to see the memo that went out with the NewsWire.
If your child is going to be absent from school please remember to call in and let us know they will be away. Please ensure you also contact the school for students who do not travel on the bus and choose to stay home on days the buses are cancelled. Check the Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region website – www.stswr.ca – for bus updates and cancellations. Thank you.
Community Safety: By-law Enforcement
Hello everyone. We are sending the Holy Spirit Community a direct link to the City of Cambridge By-Law Enforcement page to assist our community with access to information on when and how to report concerns. The page is very user friendly and will help in our continued effort to keep our school and neighborhood safe. The site explains how you can report by-law issues, when to notify police, and lists common by law complaints. Thank for your continued support.
