Holy Spirit Families:
We are incredibly proud of our students and their efforts to support our major school fundraiser, the Fitness Frenzy. So many students raised money, but all students made efforts toward fitness goals and supported each other through the afternoon. During 9 minute rotations, students experienced CrossFit, Zumba, Lacrosse, Karate, Pilates, Bootcamp, Just Dance and so much more! There were 26 classrooms full of activities and we were very grateful to our community partners for their support in leading fitness activities and donating prizes.
Your child may have experienced a new activity and you may be wondering where you can sign them up. These are the organizations in our community that supported our Fitness Frenzy:
- Cambridge Youth Soccer
- Cheer Sport Sharks
- Idea Exchange Galt Library
- Triple Arts Karate
- Fit Body Bootcamp
- Toronto Rock Pro Lacrosse
- Premier Martial Arts
This year there were two classes that stood out in terms of participation. Mrs. Lamarre’s class raised over $900 and raised the most of any class. However, when we analysed the average amount raised per student based on class size, Mrs. Thorton’s class was at the Top. Both classes will be receiving a Pizza Party at the end of the month!
Although we still have some pledge money coming in, the total raised exceeded $13 000 as of 9:00 AM this morning. INCREDIBLE WORK FLAMES FAMILIES! This money will be combined with our other grants to fund phase 2 of the greening project. Parent council is currently working with a team at the board office as we go through the tendering process. As soon as we know more, we will let everyone know about the construction timeline.
Here are some fun pictures from the event…
