The Theme of the Week Is Running!

Holy Spirit Families: We have a running club, a cross country meet, a track and field meet and even our elected officials are running for office this week with our school serving as a polling station! But the staff and students of THE MIGHTY HOLY SPIRIT are ready for the challenge. Please see the dates below for details. A huge thank you to Mrs. Cassidy and Mrs. Lemos for taking our students to Cross Country and we would also extend gratitude to Mr. Luciani, Mr. Mastroianni and Mrs. Cassidy again for volunteering to take our students to Track and Field.

Menchies Supply Challenges…

This week Menchies will be served on Wednesday, as it has the last few weeks. This is a result of a problem within Menchies’ supply chain. They are unable to obtain enough cups to fulfill their Monday orders. Students will receive their frozen treats when they arrive on Wednesday. Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we work with the vendor to rectify these unfortunate delays.

Election on Thursday

As our community participates in a free and fair election, Holy Spirit will serve as a polling station. We cherish our democracy and encourage everyone to take time to speak to your children about the importance of voting, and then modeling our democratic values by exercising your right to cast a ballot. The cost of our electoral process is some inconvenience on election day this Thursday. Please plan to park further away to pick your child up and drop your child off. There will be traffic challenges around our building at those key times through the day and all families should plan accordingly.

If you are unsure how to vote, please visit the link below.

A Message From Our Principal Mr. Dinner

Dear Parent/Guardians,

Just a short time ago, our WCDSB announced a variety of school administrator changes.  Effective September 2018, I will be assuming administrative duties as Principal Our Lady of Grace Elementary School in Kitchener. The incoming Principal for Holy Spirit Catholic School in September will be Mr. Paul Mendonca who is the present administrator of St. Matthew Catholic School in Waterloo. Mr. Mendonca is an exceptional person and leader and is excited to serve our school community. As well, we are truly fortunate to have our Vice-Principal, Mr. Hunt, remaining on our Leadership Team for the 2018-19 school year.

Even though we still have the month of June and many wonderful events in store for our students and community before the end of the school year, I wish to thank you for your kindness and support during our time together. Over the few years, I have enjoyed developing relationships with our “AWESOME” students, staff and parents. United in faith and by rolling up our sleeves to work hard together for the benefit of our students, the “Mighty Holy Spirit School” continues to be celebrated as rare and special place. Hence, it is with mixed feelings that I begin this new challenge, in that while I am excited to help in a new community, I am sad to be leaving this wonderful community.  Please know that I am blessed to take with me many memorable moments from these past school years and will look back on them fondly. Thank you for your support and continued blessings to you ALL!

Mr. Dinner,

Kinbridge Community Sports Night Kick-Off was a Success!

The evening had over 15 youth participating in a sports night. We have 3 more planned during the Thursdays that follow the election. Please send any interested Youth 12 and older. Children and Teens do NOT have to be a Holy Spirit School student, so if your child is friends with somebody who attends a different school, they can still participate together.

Our trial run will continue to run for the month of June, but we hope to continue this community evening in the Fall starting in September. A HUGE Thank You to Ashley King, Amy Slack and Scott DeJong for working to make this opportunity a reality!

Starts This Thursday, May 31st from 6:30PM to 8:30PM. See Flyer for Details.
